PATRICO GUZMAN  (Chile/Spain/France/Switzerland 2014)

Lewes Film ClubExploring chile’s long coastline Guzmán investigates Patagonia’s indigenous tribes: nomadic boatpeople who are now, thanks to European colonisers, extinct save for a few survivors. The film considers more recent disappearances – of those tortured, killed and dumped in the ocean by Pinochet’s regime. Visually spectacular with a powerful message delivered in Guzmán’s characteristically deadpan fashion.
